Pfc Jania, stationed at Fort Belvoir, Va., describes life there at an army map reproduction school he is attending at the Engineer Replacement Training Center. He writes concerning his studies, work, leisure activities, the skills of fellow students, dislike of Eleanor Roosevelt, a visit to Washington, D.C., food prices, reminiscences of their civilian life, and deployment after training. Of interest is a description of sneaking out on backroads to visit Mount Vernon.
